Florence is considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world and it was the cradle of Italian Renaissance. Famous artists such as Botticelli, Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, Giotto, Dante, they all lived there.
it preferable to see Florence by walking since the city center is not very big and most of the streets are old, narrow forbidden to vehicles.
On this private tour you will visit the main sites that cannot be missed! We suggest you spend the whole day with us to see as much as possible. However, if you have less time, we have the half-day tour version for you!
HALF- DAY TOUR
Visiting museums and galleries might take you more than 3 hours for each of them so in this private half-day walking tour we bring you to mostly outdoor sites.
We will enter the Cathedral of Florence and see its great dome that is one of the Renaissance masterpieces built in 1406 by architect Brunelleschi. Next to it we will see the tall belltower and the baptistry with its famous bronze doors designed by Ghiberti.
Our local expert guide will take you next to the market of San Lorenzo and Via dei Calzaiuoli, the city's most popular shopping areas for leather and artisanal products. Do not forget that Florence is home of famous fashion makers like Ferragamo e Gucci.
Then, you will reach Piazza della Signoria that is the location of the Palazzo Vecchio, Florence's town hall. This is is beautifully painted and surrounded by XVI century statues.
We will cross Piazza della Repubblica, the Ancient Roman city center and arrive on Ponte Vecchio, one of the oldest and most charming bridges of Europe and see the Arno River.
During this half day tour we will also visit the Church of Santa Croce that is burial place of Michelangelo and Galileo.
Half-day in Florence might not be enough that is the reason why we suggest a full-day tour if you ahve time. You will have the chance to visit in addition either the Academy Gallery of the Uffizi museum.
The Academy contains masterpieces of painting and sculpture from middleage to Renaissance especially the world-wide famous statue of David by Michelangelo.
The Uffizi Museum is considered one of the top 5 museums in the world because it houses many great works of art such as Botticelli's Venus and Primavera, Caravaggio's Bacchus, Leonardo' Announciation, and Magis Adoration and much much more!
Tell us which one of the two you want to add to our half day tour, or if you wanna only visit those or if you wanna see all, and in this case you need one and a half day!
We had heard that it is necessary to book tours for the most popular sites in Rome. Not sure if this was true or not, I booked a tour for the Vatican with Private Tours of Rome and with other companies. The Vatican Tour with Francesca was, by far, the best. She was knowledgeable, friendly and energetic--and with roaring heat we appreciated the optimism. I wish that we had booked all of our tours with this group!.Debra S. from Louisville, Kentucky
