Tour details

Venice has a lot to offer, and some of the best things have often something to do with food! Taste local delis such as marinated seafood with soft polenta wedges and wonderful plates of olives, as our guide will explain you the long and amazing history of this ancient bar.

Walking through Strada Nuova, our Venice city tour reaches one more historical bar dating back to the 1700’s. to savour its famous polpette (spicy fried meatballs). Our walk goes on to Campo Santa Sofia, where we will cross Canal Grande boarding on a typical traghetto, a kind of gondola used by locals to cross canals (no sitting or singing involved here!). On the other side, we’ll be at the heart of the Rialto area.

After visiting a genuine local attraction such as the local market, we’ll reach to another picturesque bar at the core of old Venice, a hole-in-the-wall kind of bar serving simple yet yummy cicchetti and an amazing choice of proseccos and regional wine.

You would be wrong to think there couldn’t possibly be more bars in town, as our guide will take you to a couple more stops, to finish our delicious journey through art and food! The tour ends at the Rialto Bridge, where our local guide will be happy to address you to your accommodation. Otherwise, you could still decide to get back to one of your new favourite bars!

We had heard that it is necessary to book tours for the most popular sites in Rome. Not sure if this was true or not, I booked a tour for the Vatican with Private Tours of Rome and with other companies. The Vatican Tour with Francesca was, by far, the best. She was knowledgeable, friendly and energetic--and with roaring heat we appreciated the optimism. I wish that we had booked all of our tours with this group!.
